About the Organization
Our company was incorporated in 1984 within the State of North Carolina, and opened its doors for business in August of 1985. The company has continually grown to a point where we currently serve more than 600 individuals, and employ more than 1000 people across the state.
Skill Creations is a human services agency that operates three service divisions. The ICF Division provides specialized long-term residential care to 191 individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in 15 different towns in North Carolina. The Community Operations Division provides residential and non-residential services to persons with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in their home community. The Child Development Division, with two locations in Goldsboro, provides high quality child care and preschool for children ages birth - 5 years. One center also offers after school care through age 12.

Pay: Full time and Part time $17.60
Available positions:
Men's House:
1st Shift Part Time: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm--every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)--8 average hours per week.
2nd Shift Part Time: 3:15 pm - 11:45 pm--rotating nights including every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)--24 average hours per week.
2nd Shift Part Time: 3:15 pm - 11:45 pm--evey other weekend (Saturday and Sunday night)--8 average hours per week.
3rd Shift Part Time: 11:30 pm-7:30 am--every other weekend (Friday and Saturday night)--8 average hours per week.
Ladies House:
2nd Shift Part Time: 3:15 pm - 11:45 pm--rotating nights including every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)-24 average hours per week.
Back-up/prn fill in positions available for all 3 shifts at both houses. $17.00 per hour.
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for a variety of duties related to providing support and care for individuals living in Skill Creations, Inc. facilities, who have needs in the area of physical /medical care, behavioral support, cognitive support and independent living. The Direct Support Professional provides care according to the specific needs of the individuals. This includes but is not limited assistance and education with personal care, medication administration and independent living skills. Direct Support Professionals also help to transport/accompany individuals to activities in the community and to local or out of town appointments. Hourly pay for full and part time DSP positions in residential facilities begins at $17.60 per hour ( Back up and PRN Employee Positions are paid $17.00 per hour), Full time employees (scheduled 30+ hours per week) are offered a competitive benefits package that includes health, dental and life insurance, holiday pay, paid time off and 401K.

Position Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited school is required.
  • Criminal Record Check
  • Prompt and regular attendance for assigned work schedule is expected. Includes working during inclement weather and some holidays.
  • A valid driver's license and acceptable driving is required.
  • Course work will be required for successful completion of CPR/First Aid and Behavior Management.
  • Basic computer skills are needed for e-mail, electronic training modules and recording data.
  • Persons must have the ability to lift 50 pounds and the work occasionally requires balancing, bending, stooping and kneeling. The position requires the employee to be on his or her feet most of the time.
