JOB TITLE: Production Technician

DEPARTMENT: Industrial Services

SUPERVISOR'S TITLE: Production Manager

POSITIONS SUPERVISED: Production Workers, Persons Served                                   

JOB STATUS: Full-Time, Non-Exempt 

SCHEDULE:  Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm 


Summary:

Supervise and coordinate production activities to ensure timely completion of contracts, quality standards, and safe work practices. This role supports individuals with disabilities in a production environment by providing training, oversight, and skill development while maintaining efficient operations.


Key Responsibilities:

Production Operations
Assist in scheduling, job setup, and workflow coordination to meet production goals
Support completion of contracts in a timely and efficient manner
Conduct time studies and assist in determining job standards and productivity expectations
Maintain accurate production records and provide updates on job progress
Ensure adherence to contract specifications and requirements

Client & Staff Supervision
Provide supervision, training, and support to production workers and clients
Train individuals using appropriate instructional techniques aligned with individual plans (PCISP)
Collaborate with case coordinators to ensure appropriate client placement and participation
Support skill development and engagement in both work and non-work activities as needed
Demonstrate empathy and professionalism in working with individuals served

Facility & Equipment Maintenance
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment
Ensure workstations are orderly and free of hazards
Submit maintenance requests and monitor equipment needs

Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate daily production and client work records
Complete required documentation 


Qualifications & Skills:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to supervise, train, and support individuals effectively
Basic knowledge of production processes and quality control practices
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Demonstrated empathy and professionalism when working with individuals with disabilities


Physical & Work Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday
Ability to work in an environment with exposure to machinery and production equipment
Ability to follow safety protocols in a potentially hazardous environment
Ability to lift and move materials as required by production tasks

Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance 


Certifications & Training Requirements:

Ability to operate a forklift (or willingness to obtain certification)

CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens certification 

Certified Restraint Training

Core A & B certification 

Completion of required agency and regulatory trainings (e.g., Human Rights, Safety, Medication Administration)

Education/Experience Requirements: 

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. 

One year experience in industry of facility setting preferred.  

One year (+) of college in related area would be accepted in lieu of experience.
