Job description

Chemical Operator
Location: Newark, NJ, US
On-Site
Perform the duties required for the continuous production of chemicals according to DSM-Firmenich's safety, quality, housekeeping, service (punctuality) and cost standards. This position is a 12 hour rotating shift schedule, 7 days week, 365 days per calendar year. Join us to make a significant impact!
Your key responsibilities
  • Safely operate and monitor process equipment in area of responsibility.
  • Maintain batch sheets, spreadsheets, control charts, and other documentation.
  • Monitor process using GLC.
  • Troubleshoot process & equipment problems, automation program, and provide support to Guardian teams.
  • Ensures transfer of accurate production data into SAP and spreadsheets and inventory accuracy, including proper labeling of all inventories.
  • Support PSM compliance: PCNs, safety committee, HAZOP, PSSR, etc

You bring
  • High School diploma and equivalent experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • 2 years of chemical process experience and knowledge of special formula instructions.
  • Prior equipment operator experience in a chemical manufacturing environment. Equipment operator experience in a chemical plant environment.
  • Knowledge of GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Ability to drive a forklift. Willingness to work overtime to cover vacancies.
  • Ability to work a 24/7 rotating shift.

The salary provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant's job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. Hourly rate: $28.00-$32.00 per hour.
In addition to base salary, we also offer a comprehensive total rewards package, inclusive of annual incentive pay, a retirement savings plan, health care coverage, paid time off, recognition programs and a broad range of other benefits.
