What is a drywall delivery?

A Drywall Delivery job involves transporting and delivering drywall and related materials to construction sites, homes, or businesses. Workers in this role load, unload, and sometimes assist in placing the drywall at the job site. It requires physical strength, attention to safety, and the ability to operate delivery equipment such as forklifts or boom trucks. Some positions may also involve customer service and inventory management.

What are the typical daily responsibilities for someone in a drywall delivery role?

Drywall Delivery team members typically start their day by reviewing delivery schedules, loading drywall and related materials onto trucks using proper safety equipment, and verifying that loads meet order specifications. Throughout the day, they drive to various construction sites, unload materials safely, and obtain required signatures or documentation from site supervisors. They may also assist in organizing inventory, performing basic truck maintenance checks, and communicating with dispatch or customers to resolve any delivery issues. This role often requires adapting to changing weather, tight deadlines, and different delivery locations, making reliability and flexibility important qualities for success.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the drywall delivery position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Drywall Delivery professional, you need good physical strength, a valid driver's license (often CDL for larger trucks), and experience handling construction materials safely. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems, forklifts, pallet jacks, and basic inventory software is also valuable. Dependability, attention to detail, and good communication skills help ensure timely and accurate deliveries while working closely with customers and onsite crews. These abilities are essential for maintaining safety, efficiency, and strong professional relationships in a physically demanding logistics environment.

Job description

Description

Company information:

www.volumod.com

Volumod (Vol-U-mod) is a multi-family modular construction company located on the Far East Side of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Volumod's team of more than 100 skilled professionals builds apartment buildings and other multi-family housing in sections - called modules - within a heated-and-cooled facility. On the factory floor, each home moves through 20 different stations, including framing, electrical, plumbing, flooring, drywall, siding, roofing, and interior finish, with kitchens and bathrooms installed, to produce a home that is 90% complete!ย

The modules are then wrapped, transported by semi truck, and lifted with a crane to form multifamily communities. Modular construction improves speed, consistency, quality, and efficiency compared with traditional, onsite construction, bringing value to our clients.

At Volumod, we're not just delivering a better product to our clients. We're helping transform lives by creating beautiful, affordable housing - sacred spaces where people live and are proud to call home. ย We're also passionate about seeing lives transformed within the Volumod organization as our employees improve their lives with a great job and whole-person support that helps them thrive in every area. We offer living wages, major medical coverage, 401K contributions, and a culture of hope. Will you join us?ย
