Job description

Job Summary

The Wallcovering Installer is responsible for installing a variety of commercial and specialty wallcovering systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards. This position requires precision, craftsmanship, and attention to detail while preparing surfaces, measuring and cutting materials, pattern matching, and installing wallcoverings in commercial, institutional, and industrial settings. Wallcovering Installers work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality finished products while maintaining a safe and professional work environment.


Job Duties
  • Prepare walls and surfaces for wallcovering installation, including cleaning, patching, sanding, and priming.
  • Measure, cut, and install vinyl, fabric, paper, textured, and specialty wallcoverings.
  • Match patterns and align seams to achieve a professional finished appearance.
  • Apply adhesives, primers, and specialty installation materials according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Install decorative borders, murals, and custom wallcovering systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, finish schedules, specifications, and work orders.
  • Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Work from ladders, scaffolding, aerial lifts, and other elevated work platforms as required.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
  • Coordinate with painters, drywall finishers, glaziers, general contractors, and other trades to meet project schedules.
  • Inspect completed installations to ensure quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
  • Follow all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and union work practices.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous wallcovering installation experience preferred; apprenticeship or related construction experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of commercial wallcovering installation techniques and materials.
  • Ability to accurately measure, cut, and pattern match wallcoverings.
  • Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work, including climbing, kneeling, bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working from ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required.
