Job description

As a Route Sales & Delivery Specialist, you will be responsible for managing a dedicated service route. This is a dual-role position combining customer service excellence with proactive sales generation. You will ensure our current clients receive seamless, accurate pickup and delivery services while actively identifying and closing new residential and commercial opportunities along your route.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Route Management

  • Provide punctual, reliable, and friendly pickup and delivery of laundry and dry cleaning to residential homes and commercial businesses.
  • Accurately record, tag, and track all incoming and outgoing orders using our inventory management system.
  • Inspect garments/items upon pickup when necessary and ensure pristine handling during transit.
  • Address customer inquiries, resolve service issues promptly, and maintain a high level of client satisfaction.

Sales & Business Growth

  • Actively prospect and acquire new residential and commercial accounts within your assigned territory.
  • Educate potential customers on Pier Cleaners' services, pricing, and convenience benefits.
  • Meet or exceed monthly route growth and new customer acquisition targets.
  • Distribute marketing materials and participate in local community networking to build brand awareness.

Logistics & Safety

  • Safely operate a company-provided delivery vehicle in compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Plan and optimize daily route efficiency to ensure timely deliveries and minimal fuel consumption.
  • Perform basic daily vehicle inspections (fluid levels, tire pressure, cleanliness) and report maintenance needs.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Previous experience in route delivery, customer service, or outside sales is highly preferred.
  • License: Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean, safe driving record (MVR check required).
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build rapport quickly with diverse clients.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using smartphones, GPS navigation, and digital point-of-sale/tracking applications.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to work independently, lift and carry up to 40 lbs frequently, and adapt to changing New England weather conditions.
  • Attributes: High energy, self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented.
