Job Title: Household Manager & Family Assistant with Meal Prep Support

Location: Franklin, TN 37064

Employment Type: Part-time (10-15 hours/week, with 10 hours guaranteed)

Proposed Schedule: Tuesday-Thursday, 12:00-5:00 PM or 1:00-6:00 PM, with flexibility

Compensation: $30-35/hour

Proposed Start Date: ASAP

We are a busy family who values a calm, organized, and welcoming home. With a young child who keeps us on our toes, two adults balancing demanding jobs, and frequent travel, we find ourselves needing extra support to keep everything running smoothly. In addition to our busy lives, we also live on a property with goats and chickens, which adds an extra layer of charm (though you won't be responsible for their care).

The right person will be able to step in, manage household tasks like organizing, tidying, and meal prep, and offer light, light childcare support. The goal is to create more space for us to enjoy family moments while ensuring our home remains well-maintained and stress-free.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For:

We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and reliable individual who can integrate into our family life. The ideal candidate is:

  • Organized: Able to create and maintain household systems, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
  • Flexible: Able to adjust to our evolving needs, including occasional school pickups or coordinating with vendors.
  • Proactive & Independent: Can anticipate needs and take the initiative with tasks.
  • Communicative: Friendly, approachable, and comfortable with both children and around animals, providing light supervision and engaging with our daughter when needed.
  • Trustworthy: Able to manage tasks independently and provide a sense of calm organization in our home.
Key Responsibilities:Household Management & Organization:
  • Create and maintain household organization systems
  • Daily resets and prep home for cleaners (every other Monday)
  • Light tidying (dishes, surfaces, vacuum high-traffic areas)
  • Seasonal swaps (clothing, decor, bedding)
  • Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs
  • Event/holiday/guest prep
  • House sitting duties while family travels (e.g., watering plants, etc)
Inventory & Errands:
  • Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies
  • Manage running household supply lists
  • Manage household orders and subscriptions (Amazon/Costco/Target)
  • Handle returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping
  • Manage mail and package handling
  • Breakdown boxes
Meal Planning & Prep:
  • Plan and prep 2-3 meals per week
  • Ensure meals are healthy, protein-forward, and kid-friendly
  • Shop for groceries and meal-related items
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen
Laundry & Linen Care:
  • Wash, fold, and organize laundry
  • Handle special garment care (ironing/steaming)
  • Linen rotation
  • Maintain tidy and well-stocked laundry areas
Vendor & Property Oversight
  • Occasional research/coordinate repairs and quotes
  • Seasonal property maintenance
  • Manage and refresh outdoor spaces (pool, patio, front porch)
Family Support & Child Assistance:
  • Pick-ups from school or activities as needed
  • Support with after-school routines and snack
  • Light supervision / back-up childcare
  • Kid-related errands
Deep Cleaning & Special Projects:
  • Occasional deep cleans (fridge, oven)
  • Refresh mudroom and pantry organization
  • Organizational projects (toys, gear, seasonal or holiday decor)
