Job description

About the Role:
As the Associate Director, Enterprise Applications - Digital & Marketing Systems, you will serve as a strategic technology leader responsible for identifying, implementing, and optimizing digital and marketing technology solutions that support Tarsus' commercial strategy. In this role, you will partner closely with marketing and cross-functional commercial teams, agencies and service providers to drive omnichannel engagement, website operations, marketing analytics, and customer experience initiatives that increase awareness and adoption of Tarsus treatments.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and strategic advisor to the marketing organization in evaluating, prioritizing, designing, planning, and deploying solutions across Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including Marketing Cloud Personalization (MCP), Marketing Cloud Intelligence (MCI), Salesforce Data Cloud, Marketing Cloud Engagement (MCE) and related digital platforms to enhance campaign effectiveness and customer engagement.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to develop roadmaps, prioritize marketing initiatives, gather and refine business requirements, and translate them into scalable technical solution designs.
  • Partner with commercial teams, marketing agencies, and website hosting providers to manage commercial website operations, deployments, performance optimization, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Collaborate with implementation and managed service partners on solution architecture, technical design, and deployment of Marketing Cloud capabilities.
  • Lead technical solution workshops, design walkthroughs, and user acceptance testing (UAT) activities while ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical industry regulations and standards.
  • Stay current with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud releases, automation capabilities, product updates, and future roadmaps. Partner with stakeholders to identify and implement enhancements to the Marketing Cloud data model and overall platform architecture.
  • Apply industry best practices in marketing automation, AI, and machine learning to improve customer engagement, operational efficiency, and campaign performance.
  • Enhance reporting and analytics capabilities to support data-driven decision-making across marketing campaigns, awareness initiatives, and website engagement.
  • Experience with Salesforce Einstein Analytics and Copilot capabilities is highly desirable.
  • Collaborate with commercial operations, sales, and IT teams to integrate data and business processes across Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Veeva CRM, master data management platforms, and enterprise data warehouses.
  • Communicate digital marketing insights and website analytics effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Coordinate production deployments for new solutions, website enhancements, and system integrations while minimizing operational disruption and customer impact.

Factors for Success:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting marketing technology solutions, including at least 4 years within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industries.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and other marketing automation platforms, including enterprise integrations.
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications preferred.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing omnichannel marketing solutions and customer engagement strategies.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, including user story development, backlog grooming, and sprint collaboration.
  • Deep expertise across Salesforce Marketing Cloud Studios and Builders.
  • Experience partnering with Salesforce Solution Architects and Business Analysts to translate business requirements into scalable Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with Email Studio, including A/B testing, segmentation, triggered sends, personalization, microsites, landing pages, and campaign wave execution.
  • Hands-on Experience supporting Salesforce Data Cloud engagement use cases, including data ingestion, identity resolution, Data Model Objects (DMOs), segmentation, and activation into Marketing Cloud.
  • Experience with Veeva CRM and familiarity with third-party HCP data providers is preferred.
  • Front-end development experience, including building, debugging, and troubleshooting Cloud Pages and websites using HTML, CSS, SQL, and content management platforms such as WordPress or Drupal is a plus.
  • Experience implementing automated solutions using Marketing Cloud Server-Side JavaScript (SSJS).
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics, social media analytics platforms, and Marketing Cloud Intelligence (Datorama).
  • Experience implementing or supporting GenAI and machine learning capabilities is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of SQL and deep understanding of Marketing Cloud's contact and data architecture.
  • Experience managing website hosting environments, monitoring website performance, and ensuring platforms remain current with required patches and updates.
  • Familiarity with Marketing Cloud Connector and MobileConnect capabilities preferred.
  • Experience designing and implementing integrations between Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, Veeva CRM, and external platforms using APIs and middleware technologies.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical industry compliance requirements, including HIPAA and GDPR.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a cross-functional environment.
  • Experience managing vendors, system integrators, and SaaS providers in both project and support contexts
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced organization with competing priorities.

At Tarsus, we understand the importance of attracting and retaining top talent. The expected base pay range for this position is $165,000 - $231,000 plus bonus, stock equity, and comprehensive benefits. The base pay range reflects the target range for this position, but individual pay will be determined by additional factors such as job-related skills, experience and relevant education or training.
