What is Drupal design?

Drupal design refers to the process of creating and implementing the visual and user experience aspects of websites built on the Drupal content management system (CMS). This involves designing themes, layouts, user interfaces, and ensuring that the site is both aesthetically pleasing and easy to navigate. Drupal designers often collaborate with developers to customize site appearance and functionality, utilizing Drupal's powerful theming system. Their goal is to deliver a website that not only looks great but also aligns with the client’s branding and usability needs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Drupal designer?

To thrive as a Drupal Designer, you need expertise in front-end web design, a solid understanding of the Drupal CMS, and a background in user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) principles. Familiarity with tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, HTML/CSS, and Drupal theming modules is essential, along with knowledge of current web standards. Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills help you work effectively with developers and stakeholders. These abilities are critical to creating visually appealing, user-friendly, and functional websites that leverage Drupal’s full potential.

How does a Drupal designer typically collaborate with developers and content teams during a website project?

Drupal Designers often work closely with both developers and content teams to ensure a seamless user experience and technical feasibility. During a project, designers will create wireframes and prototypes, gather feedback from stakeholders, and adjust designs based on input from developers regarding module capabilities or theme constraints. They also coordinate with content managers to ensure the design supports content strategy and accessibility standards. Regular communication and collaborative tools, such as project management platforms and design systems, help maintain alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

Sr. Project Manager

Quick Summary

We are seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager with 5+ years of true technical project management experience and a strong Agile background. This role will oversee a unified program across multiple squads, manage intake and prioritization processes, coordinate client-facing communications, and translate strategic objectives into actionable feature-level plans. The ideal candidate will be AI-literate, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and have experience with Jira, Confluence, and Content Management Systems such as Drupal or Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).

Responsibilities

  • Manage a unified program board across four development squads and design teams, ensuring priorities, dependencies, and deliverables remain aligned.
  • Support and manage standardized intake forms and triage rules for features, SEO, content, innovation requests, and other client needs.
  • Coordinate inbound triage and resolution of issues submitted by clients.
  • Work directly with clients to define and maintain a prioritized feature stack.
  • Prepare and deliver the final, ordered list of features for weekly prioritization ceremonies.
  • Produce polished, direct, client-facing Product Owner status reports covering inbound requests, pipeline features, priorities, and progress.
  • Define and create feature-level intent briefs outlining strategic objectives, desired outcomes, and alignment guidance.
  • Hand off intent briefs to squad Project Managers and Business Analysts to guide sprint-level execution.
  • Coordinate across project managers, business analysts, designers, developers, Product Owners, and client stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple priorities, competing deadlines, dependencies, and changing requirements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leverage Agile methodologies to facilitate planning, prioritization, execution, and communication across teams.
  • Utilize Jira and Confluence to manage project information, documentation, requirements, workflows, and team collaboration.
  • Apply practical knowledge of AI technologies and applications to support project delivery, process improvement, and innovation initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project processes, intake workflows, prioritization, communication, and delivery efficiency.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a true Technical Project Manager, preferably in complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and managing technical delivery teams.
  • Required experience with Jira and Confluence.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams, priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong client-facing communication skills with the ability to provide clear, concise, and professional status updates.
  • AI literacy is required — candidates should have corporate experience working on an AI-related project or meaningful hands-on experience implementing, evaluating, or integrating AI beyond casual use of tools such as ChatGPT.
  • Experience with or strong understanding of Content Management Systems (CMS).
  • Experience with Drupal and/or Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) is strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to translate high-level business objectives into clear direction for technical delivery teams.
  • Bachelor''s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience managing programs involving multiple Agile squads.
  • Experience with Monday.com or similar program/project management platforms.
  • Experience in digital experience, web development, marketing technology, or enterprise content platforms.
  • Experience working with Drupal, AEM, or other enterprise CMS platforms.
  • Experience managing SEO, content, digital experience, or innovation initiatives.
  • Experience working directly with sophisticated, technology-focused clients.
  • Product Owner or Business Analyst experience.
  • Experience creating feature briefs, product requirements, roadmaps, prioritization frameworks, or strategic alignment documents.
  • Experience working on AI/ML, generative AI, automation, or other emerging technology initiatives.
