Job description

Senior Drupal Developer
Astor & Sanders Corporation (Astor), an award-winning IT solutions provider headquartered in McLean, VA, is seeking a skilled Senior Drupal Developer to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time position with the option for hybrid work based in the DMV area.
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Supports and develops the core Appian platform project, the Drupal content management system, the Apache Kafka event-streaming platform, and other related application technologies from end to end.
  • Working closely with the Federal Project Manager and Product Owner, works to fully understand the functional and technical requirements in the application's Appian case management system, the application's Drupal external filer portal, the application's Data Hub event streaming system, and the Tableau-based reports. Actively participates in and provides input to major design decisions, prioritization of technical debt and bugs as it relates to the overall priority of the project and works with the Business Analyst (BA) to ensure the BA fully elicits business requirements and in turn develops technical requirements.
  • Also works with Business Analysts, SME's, system owners, customers, and end-users to understand their mission, current architecture, security requirements and deliverables.
  • Designs and develops the system to set the standard for future development, crafts an architecture that smoothly works with existing infrastructure without compromising security.
  • Identifies and introduces new opportunities to build platform-based solutions to help the users meet their requirements.
  • Documents system architecture design, root cause analysis or other technical documentation as needed. Provides leadership, analysis and solutioning to resolve system defects and bugs.
  • Works with BAS SORT team to follow OCIO best practices.
  • Additional duties as assigned

Requirements
Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • A minimum of 6 years' experience supporting major IT systems, utilizing Appian, GitLab, Drupal, Cloud services such as AWS Azure, Cosmos DB, Apache Kafka, JavaScript, NetApp, Oracle, complex SQL queries, and JIRA.
  • Experience with standardized DevOps practices.
  • Preference will be given for experience supporting case management systems with public-facing web interfaces.
  • Expertise in Azure/AWS DevOps practices, with the ability to introduce new solutions to enhance existing workflows.
