Job description

Description:

As a Shop Technician with Jasper Engineering, your mission is to contribute to the overall success, efficiency and effectiveness of our Shop and Warehouse departments by playing the critical role of a utility player. You will be expected to anticipate the needs of the different departments and take lead in completing several critical tasks. It is imperative that you gain an understanding of how each department operates in an effort to help identify potential gaps that your specific skillset can fill.


Primary Responsibilities:


Lubrication Department 

  • Ensure a clean and organized work environment in the lubrication room 
  • Transfer lubrication product from fluid bags to pumping bins 
  • Lubrication tank cleaning and pumping support, as needed 
  • Serve as primary backup to lubrication technician for pumping at customer site(s) 

Linatex Rubber Department

  • Burning rubber out of shells, pipes and other equipment as needed. 
  • Support the prep and installation of rubber for large balling drum jobs 
  • Sand blasting of pipes, pumps, shells, etc.

Shop Maintenance

  • Cleaning, maintenance and upkeep of shop bathrooms, floors and general facility cleanliness
  • Pallet organization for job prep
  • Lubrication tank cleaning and pumping support
  • Organization of warehouse parts as directed

Facility/Property Maintenance 

  • Lawn mowing/shoveling
  • Jasper Sign upkeep and beautification 
  • Driveway repair
  • Dump runs for pallets and garbage 

Shop Truck Maintenance

  • Washing/Vacuuming
  • Oil/tire changes
  • Office updates-painting, general cleaning

Other tasks and duties as directed to include but not limited to the following:

  • Equipment Delivery on request’
  • Keep/Fill assistance with chain business
  • Delivery truck loading/unloading
  • Gear cleans
  • Truck bed equipment installs
  • Other tasks as required to support the team in general.

Working Conditions:

  • Jasper Office/Shop- Hibbing MN
  • Some tasks could take place on nights and weekends

Requirements:
  • 2 yr Technical degree, GED or equivalent experience in a similar position
  • Highly detailed and task oriented
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively, content with repetitive work
  • Positive attitude, takes pride and ownership
  • Mechanically inclined (experience with changing mower blades, running a forklift, lighting a torch etc.)
  • Able to lift 50 lbs without assistance 
  • MSHA desired or willing to complete
  • Team focused
