JOB DESCRIPTIONJoin the Milne team as a Recreation Assistant! You'll support the planning and delivery of fun, engaging recreational and leisure activities for residents, assist with community outings, and document participant involvement.
This position is located in Covington, and we offer weekly pay.
Responsibilities
- Assist with planning, organizing, and facilitating recreational activities and events
- Support daily programming, including fitness activities, social events, community outings, and seasonal celebrations
- Monitor participation and maintain accurate attendance and activity records
- Assist participants with preparation for Special Olympics and other recreational events
- Implement individualized activity plans under the direction of the Recreation Therapist
- Encourage resident participation and engagement in activities
- Participate in group activities such as arts and crafts, games, educational programs, and recreational events
- Maintain appropriate documentation as required
- Attend off-site activities and events as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Degree in a related field such as Therapeutic Recreation, Physical Education, Art, Music, or a similar discipline preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree - preferred
- Experience working in recreation, education, direct support, or day habilitation settings preferred
- Minimum age of 21
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to complete required background screening and drug testing
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead activities and work effectively with individuals of varying abilities
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Physical Requirements: Must be able to safely lift up to 75 lbs. and perform the physical duties of the position, including bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, walking, and sitting. Sufficient vision and hand-eye coordination are required to perform essential job functions.
