Job description

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education:

Requires a High School diploma or a GED state certification.

Age and Experience:

Must be at least 21 years of age and have a minimum of three (3) years driving experience

Requires up to three months of work-related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Licensure, Registrations & Certifications:

Clean driving record and criminal history

Requires a current valid Georgia driver’s license with less than 6 points against their license

A Motor Vehicle Report is required upon hire and reviewed annually.

Maintains a current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). If BLS verification is not current upon hire, it must be obtained within three (3) months of hire.

Defensive Driving Course Required

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients into getting onto the vehicle and safely inside of their respective destination by following all safety guidelines
  • Communicates with the client regarding estimated pick-up and drop-off times
  • Responsible for completing trip summary documentation prior to the end of shift
  • Report any and all incidents or accidents to the supervisor
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection on assigned vehicle to ensure they are in good working order and maintain vehicle cleanliness
  • Ability to operate wheelchair lift
  • Abides by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record
  • Responsible for safely transporting clients to and from appointments utilizing company vehicle in a professional manner
  • Operate vehicle in a safe manner to include parting the vehicle and pulling into/out of temporary loading/unloading areas Assist clients into getting onto the vehicle and safely inside of their respective destination by following all safety guidelines
  • Communicates with the client regarding estimated pick-up and drop-off times
  • Responsible for completing trip summary documentation prior to the end of shift
  • Report any and all incidents or accidents to the supervisor
  • Maintains vehicle service (tires, oil, gas, etc.)
  • Adheres to established CRHS and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control.
  • Performs other related job duties as assigned.
