Job Summary

The Sr Software Engineer position will code, test, and document software solutions and perform tests to validate the code. This role will write more progressively complex code and work to independently solve problems and fix technical issues. This role will be in lead capacity with other developers through required feature updates, code management, and requirement implementation. The ideal candidate will have a desire to grow into a Lead Software Engineer role.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design, code, test, and document software solutions that are high performing and intuitive, adhering to F&G's software development methodologies, frameworks, standards, and security requirements
  • Perform unit, regression, security, and load tests to validate the readiness of internally and externally developed code for production as required
  • Design and develop complex integrations.
  • Perform impact analysis for interface/system changes affecting the applications environment
  • Develop estimates for project and maintenance work
  • Design integrations for custom or 3rd-party solutions
  • Assist with the design of architecture and solutions
  • Translate undefined business problems and defined business objectives and goals into functional solutions
  • Design with assistance within architectural standards
  • Lead technical aspects of one or more applications within the function
  • Technical ownership of one or more business facing technologies to deliver business outcomes
  • Interact with clients and stakeholders
  • Support and interact with various IT teams and LOBs on integration efforts

Experience & Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred emphasis in Computer Science or MIS) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 4-7 years of hands-on technical experience in designing and building applications and interfaces
  • Experience in developing Angular, .NET development, and Azure cloud solutions
  • Ability to design and implement a normalized relational database schema
  • Experience with various SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
  • Significant experience working with various integration tools
  • Significant experience working with cloud
  • Expert understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Azure or AWS cloud development tools (functions, Lambdas)

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience supporting integrations
  • Experience with insurance industry
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Power Automate and Power Apps, is highly desired
  • Accord XML
  • Rest API
