Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a Class A CDL Driver to handle weekly long-haul deliveries to Arizona along with local deliveries throughout the week. This role combines commercial driving with warehouse/yard responsibilities, including loading, unloading, material handling, and equipment preparation.

Schedule & Responsibilities

  • Drive to Arizona every Monday and return as scheduled.
  • Perform local deliveries to various branches Tuesday–Friday.
  • Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles for long-haul and local deliveries.
  • Load and unload materials at branch and customer locations.
  • Operate forklifts and electric pallet jacks.
  • Secure all loads properly for safe transportation.
  • Maintain accurate delivery paperwork, mileage, fuel records, and driver logs.
  • Communicate with Dispatch regarding location, ETA, and delivery issues.
  • Assist with yard operations and equipment preparation when not driving.
  • Assist with loading/unloading pumping equipment and rental equipment.
  • Assist customers with equipment setup and startup instructions when required.
  • Perform daily vehicle and equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
  • Follow all DOT/FMCSA regulations and company/customer safety requirements.
  • Participate in rotating on-call coverage for emergency driving assignments.

CDL & DOT Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL with all required endorsements, as applicable.
  • Valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate.
  • Successful pre-employment drug test.
  • Clearinghouse full query prior to operating a commercial vehicle and annual queries thereafter.
  • Acceptable MVR and driving record.
  • Employer-maintained Driver Qualification File (DQF), including employment history, MVR, safety history, road test, medical certification, drug test, and Clearinghouse records.

Required Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of relevant driving/industrial experience preferred.
  • Experience with long-haul and local commercial deliveries.
  • Experience with flatbed trailers and load securement techniques such as chaining and strapping.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, telehandlers, loaders, or similar equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and follow directions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and respond to customer emergencies.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical issues.

Preferred Experience

  • Construction or industrial equipment experience.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Fusion machine certification.
  • Experience operating heavy industrial equipment such as telehandlers, skid steers, air tuggers, etc.
  • Experience with HDPE pipe fusion equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints, layouts, and equipment-related documents.

Physical & Working Requirements

  • Frequent loading and unloading of heavy equipment and materials.
  • Ability to safely secure and transport loads.
  • Comfortable working in warehouse, yard, customer-site, and outdoor environments.
  • Must comply with required PPE and company safety procedures.
  • Must maintain all required driver's licenses, medical cards, and certifications.
