Job description

New London Local Schools is seeking a qualified Driver's Education Instructor to support the launch of a district-based driver education program. The successful candidate will provide both classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction while ensuring compliance with all Ohio Traffic Safety Office requirements.

Qualifications

  • Valid Ohio Driver's License with acceptable driving record
  • Must hold current Ohio Traffic Safety Office (OTSO) Driver Training Instructor certification or demonstrate the ability to obtain certification prior to July 1, 2026
  • High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred
  • Must pass all required background checks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid Ohio teaching license
  • Prior experience working with high school students
  • Previous driver education instruction experience

Essential Functions

  • Provide classroom instruction in driver education curriculum
  • Deliver behind-the-wheel training to students
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and completion
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, policies, and safety standards
