Shopkeeper Assistant

Our client, an established construction and industrial services company, is seeking a Shopkeeper Assistant to support the daily operations of their shop, warehouse, and yard. This role is critical to ensuring field crews, project managers, and operations personnel have the tools, materials, and equipment needed to safely and efficiently execute projects.

Responsibilities/skills include:

  • Assist with receiving, inspecting, and stocking incoming materials, tools, and equipment
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct routine inventory counts
  • Issue and track tools/equipment through sign-out and return logs, inspect for damage, and coordinate scheduling of equipment maintenance and repairs
  • Verify shipments against packing slips and purchase orders, label and distribute materials to the appropriate jobs or departments, and coordinate outgoing deliveries
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop, warehouse, and yard, ensuring compliance with company safety policies and OSHA requirements
  • Stage materials, tools, and equipment for project mobilizations, support field teams with material requests and deliveries, and assist with loading/unloading company vehicles and trailers

Qualifications include:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred, with 1-3 years of warehouse, construction, shop, or industrial experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Outlook and Excel) and the ability to read packing slips, shipping documents, and inventory records
  • Forklift certification preferred (or ability to obtain) and a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, plus good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly, and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb while working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
