Job Title: Truckload Operations Manager

Location: Caledonia, Wisconsin (Onsite)

Territory: Eastern Wisconsin & Northern Illinois

Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Salary: $80,000 - $95,000 per year

Our client is looking for an experienced Truckload Operations Manager to lead the daily operations of a growing asset-based flatbed fleet of approximately 80 trucks, with plans to expand beyond 100 trucks.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on transportation leader with direct experience managing flatbed or open-deck operations, professional drivers, dispatch teams, fleet performance, compliance, and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations of an asset-based flatbed fleet of approximately 80 trucks and support continued fleet growth.
  • Manage dispatch, load planning, driver operations, customer service, and overall fleet utilization.
  • Lead and develop dispatch personnel and professional drivers while maintaining operational accountability.
  • Monitor KPIs including revenue per truck, revenue per mile, empty miles, utilization, on-time performance, and operating margins.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, Hours of Service requirements, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, sales, and pricing teams to maximize fleet availability, profitability, and service performance.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of transportation, trucking, dispatch, fleet management, or related operations experience.
  • Previous management experience within an asset-based trucking company.
  • Direct experience managing flatbed, open-deck, specialized, or similar truckload operations.
  • Proven experience leading dispatch teams and professional drivers.
  • Strong knowledge of dispatch, load planning, fleet utilization, DOT regulations, Hours of Service, and transportation safety.
  • Experience with TMS, ELD, and fleet-management technology. Samsara experience is preferred.
