Care First is seeking a dependable and professional Driver to join our team in The Bronx. This role is responsible for providing safe, timely, and reliable transportation services while supporting daily operations and ensuring excellent service to participants, staff, and community partners.
The Driver will transport participants, deliver supplies and equipment, assist with loading and unloading materials, and maintain accurate transportation records. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, customer service, and supporting the organization's mission of improving health outcomes within the community.

Responsibilities
Provide Safe Transportation Services

  • Safely transport participants, staff, and authorized personnel to designated locations.
  • Follow scheduled routes and transportation assignments while maintaining punctuality.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and organizational transportation policies.
Assist with Deliveries and Material Handling
  • Transport and deliver supplies, equipment, and program materials to various locations.
  • Load and unload items safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with moving and transporting materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Maintain Vehicle Safety and Readiness
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts.
  • Report maintenance needs, safety concerns, accidents, or vehicle issues promptly.
  • Ensure vehicles remain clean, fueled, and in proper working condition.
Maintain Accurate Records
  • Document mileage, transportation logs, delivery records, and participant transportation activities.
  • Complete required reports accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
Provide Excellent Customer Service
  • Interact professionally and respectfully with participants, staff, healthcare providers, and community partners.
  • Assist passengers with entering and exiting vehicles when appropriate.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Support Community Operations
  • Assist with community outreach events and organizational activities as needed.
  • Coordinate transportation schedules with supervisors and program staff.
  • Provide general operational support to ensure efficient service delivery.
Requirements
  • Valid New York City driver's license with a clean driving record required.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of professional driving, transportation, delivery, or related experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Knowledge of New York City streets, traffic patterns, and navigation systems.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple transportation assignments.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to maintain accurate transportation and delivery records.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience working with healthcare organizations, community-based programs, or social service agencies preferred.
