Work Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 7p-7a/Rotating Weekends

This dynamic position is tailored to attract top-tier clinicians from all ICU specialties—including MICU, SICU, CVICU, Neuro, and Trauma—who excel in high-acuity environments. Operating within our sophisticated 20+ bed intensive care unit, you will manage advanced, life-saving interventions such as continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical ventilation, intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), and complex vasoactive drip titrations. Supported by a dedicated team of on-site intensivist physicians and our newly integrated Level III Trauma Center designation, our service line provides an ideal space to practice at the absolute peak of your nursing license. Job Summary and Qualifications 

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

What you will do in this role:

  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates age-appropriate ICU nursing care, including interdisciplinary discharge planning, while demonstrating full unit-based competency.
  • Continuously monitors patient status, accurately documents nursing interventions and condition changes in the medical record, and escalates concerns through the chain of command.
  • Administers medications safely and accurately, complying strictly with hospital policies, federal regulations, and state laws regarding controlled substances.
  • Carries out medical orders safely, assists physicians with specialized examinations, diagnostic tests, and bedside procedures, and maintains rigorous infection control and universal precautions.
  • Respects patient privacy, protects confidentiality, honors diverse cultural, psychosocial, and spiritual values, and coordinates comprehensive patient and family education with verified understanding.
  • Maintains professional licensure in accordance with the Texas Nurse Practice Act and actively participates in hospital performance improvement initiatives to elevate safety and clinical outcomes.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
  • Current BLS, and ACLS issued from American Heart Association required
  • PALS preferred.
  • 1 year of clinical Critical Care, ICU experience as a licensed RN in a hospital required.
