Senior Rock Drill Operator (Heavy Equipment Operator - Driller)



Location: Based in Central Utah (Delta area, Saratoga Springs) or Southern Nevada and Southern Utah; travel required to project sites across Utah and Nevada.

3-Rivers Drilling & Blasting has 65+ years of combined drilling & blasting experience and has been serving the Western U.S. since 1997. We're known for professional, safe, accurate work, and we're fully licensed and properly insured/bonded for every project we take on.


You'll operate cabbed rock drills (including mine-style production drilling) to safely hit production targets in tough ground conditions. This role supports mining operations and may include day/night shifts with overtime depending on the job.


Key responsibilities

  • Operate rock drills safely and efficiently; maintain consistent production
  • Read/monitor ground conditions and adjust technique to reduce wear and downtime
  • Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance/upkeep
  • Follow MSHA/safety policies and maintain clean documentation as required

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 or more years of drilling experience (senior-level)
  • Experienced in Sandvik Di650 Leapord DTH Rigs or similar. And or Experience in Sandvik DP1500i Top Hammer Rigs or similar.
  • Ability to meet strong production expectations (ex: high footage/hour targets)
  • Clean driving record + reliable transportation to/from job sites
  • MSHA 5000-23 Experienced Miner (preferred/current); strong safety mindset required
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying and remote conditions, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Pay and benefits

  • Full-time, W-2 Employment
  • Pay: $30 to $35 per hour (based on qualifications)
  • Health insurance (employee participation) + PTO after 1 year (40 hours)
  • Overtime paid in accordance with state and federal law.
  • 8 to 12-hour shifts, night shifts may be required
