Job description

Geotechnical Drillers of Texas is a rapidly growing company that performs geotechnical drilling services for various engineer and consulting firms. Our projects range from residential to the industrial industries where we provide soil boring and sampling services to our clients prior to project commencement.

This is NOT an Oil & Gas position. 

We are seeking a Driller's Assistant / Helper to support the Driller in performing drilling, drilling support services and required on-site paperwork. 

Salary Range:

  • Hourly Rate Depending on Experience
  • Regular Potential for overtime (Almost Daily)

Requirements:

  • Must be able to work outside in heat (throughout the summer)
  • Must maintain a valid and current Drivers License.
  • Must possess the ability to lift 75 pounds regularly.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time 8-10 hours.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write fluent and clear English.
  • Must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Must ensure a positive and professional interaction with customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive company truck to and from site locations.
  • Mobilize and demobilize drilling rig, pipe, augers and miscellaneous equipment.
  • Perform various drilling support services such as drilling, sampling, mixing mud and back fill of borings.
  • Assist Driller with cleaning and maintenance of tools.
  • Complete miscellaneous assigned tasks as assigned by the Driller.
  • Maintain and document necessary logs, records and reports.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and requirements at all times.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Geotechnical experience is preferred.
  • Mechanical and small engine/hydraulic knowledge is a plus.
