Job description

Do you like working outside? Our company is growing again and we are seeking placement for a drillers helper and/or a driller at our Evans City location. Company provides environmental drilling, remediation services and geotechnical drilling, mainly soil borings and monitoring well installation at shallow depths with small pickup truck sized drill rigs. This is completely different work than the shale drilling and fracking occurring in our area and is with a stable company that has been in business 20 years. Prior experience is preferred but not required. OSHA 40 hour HAZWOPER training is preferred but not required.

As a Drillers helper you will act as an assistant to Drillers and perform work in all weather conditions on a variety of terrains. This is an entry level position designed to train the individual in the various aspects of becoming a driller. We are also interested in hiring someone with experience in this field, other earthwork related fields and/or mechanic experience in a non-entry level position. You will act as an assistant to help the driller more easily perform drilling tasks; work as part of a two-person team to perform field tasks including site layout, soil boring and sampling, obtaining water levels and installing observation wells under the direction of the driller or clients. Perform maintenance tasks as requested, strong mechanical abilities and problem solving skills are a must. Strong focus on Safety, Quality, Honesty, Integrity, and Teamwork. Applicant must be able to read, write and perform addition, subtraction. Applicant must be able to safely operate a medium duty truck and tow a trailer, prior experience is preferred. A recent clean driving record is required. Applicant must have strong hand eye coordination for operating equipment. The employee is occasionally required balance and work on uneven terrains. Most of the work is completed in the Pittsburgh region, but some paid travel is required with company paid overnight stays. Travel is typically 10 to 30 percent of the time. Work is performed at diverse sites and is far from boring.

This company is a small 11 person team oriented company and we are looking for key personnel to grow with our company as we have invested additional drill rigs and equipment. We are seeking personnel that want a long term position, short term employment will not benefit yourself or our company. Management is honest, friendly and it is a positive work environment, employees are expected to be the same.
