What are drill bits?

Drill bits are cutting tools used in conjunction with a drill to create cylindrical holes in various materials such as wood, metal, plastic, or masonry. They come in many shapes and sizes, each designed for specific types of materials and applications. The most common type is the twist drill bit, but there are also spade bits, masonry bits, and specialty bits for unique tasks. Selecting the right drill bit is essential for achieving precise, clean holes and prolonging the life of both the bit and the drill. Proper care and maintenance, such as regular sharpening and cleaning, help ensure optimal performance.
