Maintenance Dredging I, LLC. is seeking experienced Boatman-Dredge to perform essential duties aboard its dredges.


Responsibilities (not an inclusive list)
  • Supervise, direct, andย instruct the deckhands in various duties
  • Inspect and renew rigging materials
  • Load and unload materials through various transfer procedures
  • Add necessary equipment to discharge line
  • Monitor line for issues
  • Handle lines to moor vessels to various locations
  • Stand watch in ships' bows or bridge wings for obstructions
  • Operate, maintain or repair ship equipment
  • Assist with maintenance of dredge
  • Lower and man lifeboats during emergencies
  • Break out, rig and stow cargo-handling gear, stationary, rigging, or running gear
  • Provide engineers with assistance in repairing or adjusting machinery
  • Steer vessels under the direction of the captain or navigating officers following designated courses
  • Monitor and maintain machinery to verify specified pressure or lubricant flows.
  • Measure depths of waters
  • Read pressure and temperature gauges
  • Maintain boat's engine under the direction of the dredge engineers
  • Participate in shore patrols
Qualifications
  • TWIC Card
  • Pass Drug Screen (pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion, etc.)
  • Pass Physical
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Ability to transport self to job site
  • Commitment to work safetyย 
  • 1+ years of Boatman Experience
  • Able to lift 50+ pounds
