As a Chief Estimator, you will play a part in high‑stakes operations that shape California’s wetlands and protect its communities. • Lead and manage all personnel assigned to the estimating department, including cross‑functional collaboration with staff from other divisions as needed.
• Conduct annual reviews and updates of standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and clarity in estimating practices.
• Facilitate bid reviews that highlight critical project elements, including:
  • High‑risk components
  • Payment terms and conditions
  • Crew selection (labor and equipment)
  • Project schedule and contract timelines
  • Community impact and engagement

• Expertise in cost estimation within the construction industry.
• 5-10+ years of experience as a construction estimator.
• 5+ years of experience in a leadership role.
• Exposure to large‑scale construction projects.
• Working knowledge of cost estimation software (HCSS Heavy Bid is highly desired).
• BS in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Thorough understanding of permits with California Fish and Wildlife, US Army Corps of Engineers, and the Regional Water Quality Control Board.
