Job description

Overview

ViaPath is currently seeking a Tablet Repair Supervisor to join our growing team. The Tablet Repair Supervisor will be based at the customer site and will be responsible for supervising a team of currently incarcerated individuals within the Ohio DRC operations.  The team is responsible for repairing, re-qualifying, and refurbishing ViaPath Android tablet computers including testing, component replacement and configuration broken tablets.

This position will be based at the client site located in Grafton, Ohio.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise a team of incarcerated individuals responsible for repairing tablets in the production shop located on customer site.
  • Provide on-the-job training to team members in the manufacturing, processing, and/or shipping of products.
  • Ensure that the team members register and fulfill the training according to work processes as defined by United States Department of Labor (USDOL) Apprenticeship Program.
  • Perform and supervise the set up and maintenance of equipment.
  • Provide all applicable safety training to team members for assigned areas of supervision.
  • Repair, re-qualification, and refurbishment of ViaPath Android tablet computers including testing, component replacement and configuration.
  • Materials coordination to include handling and unpacking / packing of inbound and outbound tablet computers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial setting (e.g., production, repair warehouse/logistics facility, etc.) required, to include a minimum of 2 years of related technical experience (e.g., technical repair, tablet support, etc.)
  • Minimum of 3 years of management and/or leadership experience required
  • Proficient in Windows OS and MS Office Suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task on work assignments while meeting competing deadlines
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and be able to work with team members to move equipment up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to follow production schedules and monitor quality of work
  • Ability to resolve operational problems
  • Ability to pass customer training requirements and implement processes and procedures following custody policy and procedure protocols
  • Android experience preferred
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 10% of the time
