Description
Overall Purpose: The Drafter/Drawing Checker is responsible for drawing and DCN creation, revision and checking to the internal and external customer's requirements and to industry standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Create and revise fully dimensioned Detail Part drawings, Top Assembly drawings and Tooling drawings from rough product designs while ensuring adherence to established specifications and standards
- Create and modify 3D models
- Verify drawings are in compliance with customer requirements, company standards and industry regulations
- Examine engineering drawings to detect and mark-up errors for Drafter rework
- Confer with design personnel to resolve drawing and design discrepancies
- Provide guidance/instructions to the Drafter in order to improve Drafter capability, maintain standardization and minimize errors/omissions
- Review final drawing prior to release
- Adhere to 5S Standards
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, policies for attendance and punctuality and standards for safety
Other Duties:
- Other duties based on the needs of the Engineering Department

Position Requirements
Qualification Requirements:
- Associate of Arts (AA) Degree in drafting or related subject from an accredited college
- 5 years of mechanical drafting experience
- Experience with Solidworks modeling and drafting
- 2 years of experience as a Drawing Checker with training in ANSI Y 14.5M1985 and experience with DOD-1000 and MIL-STD-100
- Knowledge of GD & T is preferred
- Strong writing, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Fluent in English (able to read, speak, write and understand)
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident)
