Job description

Job Title: Draw Area
Department: Operations/Production Team
Reports To: Operations Shift leader Team Leader.


Job Summary
To set up, maintain, and operate machinery and adhering to all standard operating procedures, quality requirements and company polices. This position will ensure the interminable and efficient running of production. This position must be able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. An ideal candidate should have willingness to learn and improve. Being a team player and adhering to the company’s values is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers.


Responsibilities:

  • Follow all Safety requirements
  • Follow all quality standards (Quality is everyone’s responsibility)
  • Set up, string and run machines for proper wire size: C-13 (old and new, Samp)
  • Installing progressively smaller dies in machine and repeat operation until desired wire diameter
  • Control, monitoring and adjusting machine stetting (to correct speeds)
  • Being able to adapt to last minute scheduling changes (flexibility)
  • Inspect wire with precision (quality samples, knowing what you are running)
  • Weld rod together
  • Daily cleaning of machine and cell, all tools must be put back to “home” location.
  • Maintain required activity logs: Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
  • Work within your respected work center as a team to optimize machine up time. Assisting crew members with other job-related tasks
  • Ability to scrap your wire.
  • Tag every reel that is produced; Factory Order tag, scrap tag, Hold tag, etc.
  • Work Overtime as required.
  • Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
  • Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools with accuracy (calipers, pin gages, micrometers, etc.) Measuring wire thickness to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Test operation of machines periodically
  • Ability to detect analyze safety, quality, machine, or efficiency issues that might occur during the shift or contact leader for help.
  • Record production information manually or put into computer software.
  • Keep records of approved and defective units or final products.
  • Operate wire drawing machine to determine thickness of wire desired.
  • Inserting wire into machine feed mechanism


Experience and Additional Requirements

  • 1-3 years of related experience
  • Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.)
  • Understanding of production procedures; regarding wire and gauges
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
  • Analytical skills
