ABOUT THE JOB

The primary functions include repairing, maintaining, and installing machines, tools, and equipment. Maintains buildings, grounds, and utility systems of industrial plant. Includes ability to construct and maintain production plant facilities.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains machinery, equipment and facility.
  • Plans and prepares preventative maintenance on production equipment.
  • Plans and prepares preventative maintenance on facility equipment including, HVAC, dust collectors, compressors, etc.
  • Responsible to troubleshoot and repair machinery and equipment.
  • Able to operate various tools and equipment such as but not limited to cutting torch, welder, grinders, saws, etc.
  • Responsible for maintenance and repair to pipes, plumbing, and fixtures.
  • Able to complete some construction requirements such as carpentry, sheetrock, and painting.
  • Has knowledge and know how to maintain and repair electrical switches and fixtures.
  • Remains compliant with OSHA standards, EPA regulations, GMP and ISO policies and procedures and any other regulatory body's requirements pertaining to machinery, equipment or the facility.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or GED; at least 5 years relevant experience.
SKILLS:

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • REASONING ABILITY:
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in both an office environment and a manufacturing environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computes, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The individual will be required to adhere to safety policies and procedures on the manufacturing floor.

PHYSICAL DEMAND:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
