FORKLIFT OPERATOR-

The forklift operator will Operate forklift safely in support of production operations. Documents material moved into and out of production area by performing the following duties.

• Stocks and unloads work stations.

• Ensures dumpsters are emptied at the end of shift or as often as necessary

• Performs pre-operational check on forklift and processes appropriate documentation

• Follows safety standards of performance and maintains proper use of all personal protective equipment at all times of operation

• Produces adequate scoring on forklift operation certification

• Scores adequately on annual operation re-certification.

• Loads out bound trailer for shipment, documents trailer numbers, carrier, type of pallet, dock, and number of pallets being shipped as needed.

• Places pallets into designated areas for inventory where there are no outbound loads

• Documents material moved into and out of workstations

• Ensures quality standards are met.

• Identifies issues affecting quality and reporting all quality issues to supervisor.

• Maintains a smooth flow of material from machines to "work in process" area.

• Maintains a clean tow motor.

• Documents requests for repair to the Maintenance Department.

• Parks tow motor immediately if any safety issues occur

• Assists in maintaining good housekeeping in area of assignment.

• Stocks and unloads station.

• Ensures dumpsters are dumped at the end of each shift and/or as frequently as necessary.

• Supplies product and documents the number of pallets or lumber run to the staging area.

• Interacts with yard in "work process" area and puts proper material in staging area.

• Maintains the ability to recognize, appreciate, and deal with safety hazards inherent in the work environment.

• Possesses the ability to read a tape measure.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.


Hours of operation- Monday- Thursday 6:30am-4pm Friday 6:30am-10:30am

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have ability to learn our computer system for entering shipments

Equipment: Forklift Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities: Ability to manage time to ensure material flow stays consistent within assigned production
