Job description

Job Overview
Responsible for supporting documentation of product design activities utilizing Inventor CAD software. Perform accurate and precise drafting work. Create ECNs, maintain project print planners, and have a thorough understanding of drafting standards. Lead/Assist others with Inventor questions and provide CAD support across the department as needed.

Highlights of your role
  • Drafting: Create CAD models (assemblies and complex components) and support drawings of new product designs and improvement of existing designs. Able to check others drawings to ensure they meet drafting standards. Support the implementation of best practices for modeling and CAD standards across the department.
  • Document Support: Create and track ECN's (Electronic Change Notices), create and maintain project print planners, flow charts, create and review redlines. Independently manage and prioritize work to achieve project goals`.
  • Design Activities: Work with Engineers and Designers to address product updates and support the creation of new product design concepts. Use creativity and ingenuity in product development and continuous improvement activities.
  • Product Knowledge: Become intimately familiar with product components and designs, understanding how design relates to field performance and certification requirements.

You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)
  • High school diploma or GED required, associate degree in drafting and design or similar preferred
  • 2+ years of 3-D CAD Modeling software required (Inventor is ideal)
  • Working knowledge of parametric modeling
  • Window and door related experience strongly preferred
  • Must possess basic knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Displays a positive demeaner and actively participates in a team environment
