Position: Mechanical Drafter
Location: Annapolis, MD
Clearance: Uncleared, Secret, TS/SCI REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years relevant Experience; 3 Years with Masters; 1 years with PhD; an additional 4 years of experience is required in lieu of a degree.
• Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.
• 3 years’ experience with 3D CAD modeling tools
• 3 years’ experience developing and releasing model-based engineering Digital Product Definition Packages NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Experience with Siemens Teamcenter or Teamcenter MPLM Product Lifecycle Management Tool
• 5 years’ experience with Siemens NX
• Familiarity with advanced GD&T interpretation and tolerance stack up analysis
• Experience managing the configuration of large Mechanical systems or Vehicle platforms.
• Possesses a strong knowledge and background of design engineering release procedures and configuration management practices
• Strong knowledge and experience managing Engineering Bill of Materials through effectivity management
• Ability to develop and implement solutions with minimal oversight given a challenging problem statement

A client of Insight Global is seeking Mechanical Modelers/Drafters to support a long-term engineering program focused on the creation and validation of mechanical design documentation. Candidates will be responsible for developing accurate 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings of mechanical and electro-mechanical components and assemblies using Siemens NX, in accordance with ASME Y14.100, ASME Y14.5, and ASME Y14.41. This role requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure design quality, customer satisfaction, and compliance with manufacturing and assembly requirements. Additional responsibilities include reviewing engineering drawings for accuracy, completeness, manufacturability, and clarity, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the mechanical design process. Ideal candidates will possess a background or strong interest in mechanical or machine design and experience generating and checking engineering drawings. A TS/SCI clearance is preferred; however, candidates with an active Secret clearance or those eligible to obtain a clearance will also be considered. Compensation for this role ranges from $40/hr to $60/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access.
