Job description

Haddad Plumbing and Heating Inc. is seeking an experienced Drafting Manager to join our design and project coordination team. The Drafting Manager will work closely with the President and Project Managers to oversee the preparation of clear, accurate, and constructible shop drawings that support field installation teams on active projects. This role is responsible for managing and mentoring the drafting team, coordinating weekly drawing review meetings, updating shop drawings, issuing RFIs as needed, and ensuring all drawings meet company standards, building codes, and project requirements. The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically proficient, and experienced in leading drafting operations within a mechanical construction environment. The Drafting Manager reports to the assigned Project Manager and plays a critical role in maintaining drawing accuracy, project coordination, and successful execution in the field.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare shop drawings using computer aided design (CADD) software to produce detailed 2d/3d drawings, floor plans, elevations, and cross-sections
  • Work from rough sketches or specifications created by engineers and architects to understand project requirements
  • Add detail to architectural and mechanical plans for proper installation.
  • Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures for new products
  • Ensure all drawings meet industry standards, building codes, and project specific guidelines
  • Work closely with president and project managers for accurate drawings.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in drafting, architecture, engineering or a related field
  • 3-5 years of demonstrable experience as a Drafter
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) and the ability to produce high-quality drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in drafting, ensuring that all dimensions and specifications are accurate
  • Familiarity with construction and manufacturing processes with an understanding of design standards
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to find practical solutions to design challenges
  • Additional certification from the American Design Drafting Association (ADDA) is a plus
Compensation:
$80,000 - $90,000 Annually
