A Draft Horse is not a job, but a type of large, muscular horse bred for heavy work such as plowing fields, pulling wagons, and other labor-intensive tasks. These horses are known for their strength, endurance, and calm temperament, making them ideal for farming, logging, and carriage transportation. Today, they are still used in agriculture, competitive pulling events, and historical reenactments.
| Aspect | Draft Horse | Farrier |
|---|---|---|
| Required Credentials | None mandatory, but experience with horses beneficial | Certification or apprenticeship required |
| Work Environment | Farms, stables, riding arenas | Equine clinics, farms, mobile services |
| Industry Usage | Agriculture, logging, carriage work | Horse hoof care and shoeing |
Draft horses are large working animals used in agriculture and transportation, while farriers specialize in horse hoof care and shoeing. Although both roles involve working with horses, draft horses are animals, and farriers are professionals providing specialized services. Understanding these differences helps clarify career paths and industry roles.
