Job description

$63,835-$74,000

Provide trauma informed outpatient counseling to children and adolescents ranging in age from 6 to 19 years old in the school and home setting. Clinicians will conduct evidence based treatment both individually and family based in collaboration with the school system. ย Clinicians will be expected to collaborate with systems related to the child/adolescent including but not limited to schools, pediatricians, and outside providers. Advocates is looking for individuals with a team mentality and willingness to learn.

Master's Degree
  • Promote a balanced, healthy, safe and open environment for clients.
  • Provide school and home based, evaluations, family and individual outpatient counseling to children/adolescents in the school setting
  • Follow all trauma informed practices
  • Advocate for clientsโ€™ needs within the program as well as with external agencies.
  • Maintain up-to-date client records including written evaluations, treatment plans, quarterly reviews, termination summaries and progress notes.
  • Attend trainings as assigned; maintain necessary certifications (CPR/First Aid, MAP, HR/DPPC).
  • Attends and actively participates in supervision and staff meetings
  • Ensure that clients are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Advocates Human Rights Policy.

  • MSW degree or MA in related field from an accredited college/university, and one year of experience working within an outpatient setting preferred.
  • Degree must be eligible for independent licensure.
  • Ability to work with children and families in the community
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill, including documentation abilities.
  • Intuitive, client-centered, supportive approach.
  • Ability to thrive in an independent role while offering and receiving team support.ย 
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and access to an operational and insured vehicle.
  • Strongly prefer a candidate that will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
