Join Our Team at Custom Concrete

At Custom Concrete, we take pride in building strong foundations, both for homes and for our people. We’re looking for skilled, safety-focused Equipment Operators to join our Residential Foundations Division. If you’re dedicated, hardworking, and ready to grow with a company that values quality and teamwork, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

As an Equipment Operator, you’ll play a critical role in supporting residential concrete construction across our job sites. You will initially work within established crews, assisting with a variety of site development and construction activities, including:

  • Operating a range of heavy equipment such as excavators, mini-excavators, skid steers, compact track loaders, dozers, loaders, and backhoes
  • Performing excavation, grading, site preparation, and backfill work
  • Handling and moving materials to support foundation and concrete operations
  • Reading and interpreting site plans and assisting with layout tasks as needed
  • Collaborating with crew members and communicating progress and challenges with your supervisor
  • Conducting daily equipment inspections, including checking fluid levels, fueling, greasing, and identifying maintenance needs
  • Operating equipment safely and properly while maintaining care and accountability for assigned equipment
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe job site in compliance with all safety protocols

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience operating heavy equipment in a construction environment
  • Experience with multiple types of earthmoving and grading equipment preferred
  • Ability to hold grade and establish elevation accurately
  • Basic understanding of excavation, dirt work, and general concrete construction practices
  • Strong awareness of equipment maintenance and safe operation practices
  • Valid driver’s license preferred
  • Comfortable using smartphones or tablets for job-related tasks
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow
  • Physically able to climb in and out of excavations (6–10 feet deep) and work in muddy conditions
  • Strong commitment to safety and proper incident reporting

Growth Opportunity

While initial placement will be within established crews, dependable operators may have opportunities over time to take greater ownership of their equipment and work more independently as business needs grow.

Why Custom Concrete?

  • Team-Oriented Culture: Work alongside professionals who value collaboration and craftsmanship
  • Growth Opportunities: We invest in training and development to help you advance your career
  • Competitive Pay & Benefits: Enjoy a comprehensive benefits package and steady work year-round
