Job description

Rogers Group is currently seeking candidates for a TRACKHOE OPERATOR position with our Northern Middle TN Construction team, located in Gallatin, TN. This role will work with our grading and site-prep crew doing utility work and larger scale earth-moving projects. The successful candidate for this position will be an experienced trackhoe operator, and they must have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence. 

JOB DETAILS

  • Full- Time
  • Day Shift 
  • Location: Northern Middle TN (Gallatin, TN)
  • Wages starting at $24.00/hr based on experience. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate a trackhoe and other heavy equipment - such as a dozer, haul truck, roller, or skid steer to complete utility and grading work.
  • Ability to operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill and proficiency and in challenging and unique terrain environments.
  • Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management.
  • Perform daily pre-and post- inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
  • Effective communication skills applicable to position.
  • Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • At least 2 years of experience operating a large size track hoe, such as a Komatsu 490 or similar, is required.
  • Self-motivated individual - must be able to perform required duties independently, without constant supervision.
  • Must be able to work outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Ability to learn new tasks quickly.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen.
  • Able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours as needed.
  • Previous experience operating other pieces of heavy construction equipment is preferred.
