About This Role
Dow has an exciting job opportunity for a Logistics Technician at the SRO facility located in Orange, TX.
Dow is looking for top-caliber, technically capable Logistics Technicians who embrace change, adapt fast, make decisions quickly, possess self-confidence and are lifelong learners. These positions require a high degree of dedication to safety and environmental stewardship.
Responsibilities
  • Performs routine operation of basic control systems and devices to monitor levels, temperatures, pressures and flow rates and transfer of products
  • Lift hoses, operating valves and similar equipment include the proper clearing and isolation of equipment
  • Follows Operating Discipline principles, procedures and practices to ensure safe and efficient operation of assigned plant areas
  • Operates and field checks process equipment
  • Monitors process conditions, equipment and control systems
  • Performs tasks assigned to operations as per a standard task list including field checks, equipment preparation, samples, etc
  • Ensuring operational activities and process performance are aligned with plant and business goals
  • Uses troubleshooting skills to resolve process related deviations and problems
  • Performs crisis response activities including but not limited to immediate response duties
  • Control, monitor and make necessary adjustments on control systems and manually operated equipment
  • Operates process equipment including waste management activities, loading/offloading of barges
  • Maintain accurate logs, records, reports and inspection checklists
  • Troubleshoot product quality, safety, and environmental problems and identify equipment requiring maintenance
  • Prepare equipment for maintenance, Issue Safe Work Permits and monitor daily maintenance work
  • Ensure safe and efficient performance of maintenance and project work
  • Act as a resource for other Technicians on job tasks and prioritize work activities.
  • Take ownership for the accurate completion of all assigned tasks.
  • Participate in site Emergency Response Team, if required
  • Complete all duties as assigned with a high degree of dedication to safety and environmental stewardship.
  • Execute EHS Standards and Operating Disciplines with a high degree of ownership and excellence

Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required and one of the following:
  • Five or more years of manufacturing experience as a Production Technician/Operator or similar experience, an associate's degree or higher in a process technology, science or engineering related field, or three or more years of relevant military service.
  • Current, valid US driver's license.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree or higher in Process Plant Technology or related field
  • Experience within a Chemical Manufacturing environment
  • Experience issuing safe work permits

Physical Demands
  • Must be willing and able to do the following with or without reasonable accommodation:
  • Willing and able to wear all Personal Protective Equipment as required, including a respirator (must be able to pass a fit test)
  • Must be willing and able to perform frequent bending, reaching, pulling and lifting with or without an accommodation.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and work at heights with or without an accommodation.
  • Must be willing and able to stand or walk for extended periods of time with or without an accommodation.
  • Required be able to work outdoors in the plant in all types of weather, climb stairs, ladders, walk and be able to lift 55.1 lbs.
  • Able to meet physical requirements for the emergency response team.
  • Work at heights greater than or equal to 4 ft off the ground. Must be able to wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE), including harnesses with a total weight capacity of 300lbs. (This typically accommodates individuals who weigh 285 or less)
