Job description

If you’re enthusiastic and motivated with a friendly demeanor and have the ability to work well in a team environment, you’ll fit right into this host/hostess role! Excellent communication skills and a warm, courteous manner are needed for speaking with guests, answering phone inquiries, and making accurate reservations.


One of your key duties will be to meet and greet guests warmly as they enter the restaurant and walk them to their seats. If you are considered a team player who is always willing to help out coworkers and perform other duties as needed, we’d like to meet with you. Responsibilities:
  • Respond to questions about the menu and memorize the daily specials whenever needed
  • Check the dining room constantly for cleanliness and organization and restock condiments on the table as necessary
  • Lead all guests to their seats, ensuring they all have a place to sit, proper glass and tableware, filled water glasses, and menus
  • Welcome all diners with a friendly attitude to create an excellent first impression
  • Help clear and wipe down tables and set up tables with utensils and glassware for the next party

Qualifications:
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent GED and should speak English well
  • Must be able to handle a fast-paced atmosphere with periods of standing on feet for an extended length of time
  • Knowledge of the food and beverage industry and/or hospitality industry is appreciated but not a requirement
  • Responsible for communicating politely with customers, skilled at organizing, and have the ability to troubleshoot customer requests or issues quickly, and efficiently
