The Hotel Sales Manager position is a dual-focus sales and events professional responsible for driving revenue across both catering and guest room bookings. This position manages the full sales cycle from prospecting and proposal development through contract execution, event delivery, and post-event follow-up - serving as a primary point of contact for group and event clients.

The ideal candidate combines a strong catering operations background with a consultative room sales approach, and thrives in a fast-paced, relationship-driven environment.


Reports To: Director of Sales & Marketing / General Manager

Requirements

Essential Functions / Duties and Responsibilities:
Room Sales
  • Solicit, develop, and close group room blocks for meetings, conferences, and events
  • Manage assigned accounts through proactive outreach, relationship development, and site visits
  • Negotiate room rates, contracts, and attrition clauses aligned with hotel revenue strategies
  • Conduct hotel tours, presentations, and client meetings to promote hotel services and amenities
  • Track and report booking pace, pickup, and room revenue performance against goals

Catering Sales

  • Sell and manage food and beverage components for group events and catering functions
  • Develop detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and customized catering proposals
  • Upsell catering packages, AV services, and ancillary offerings to maximize revenue
  • Coordinate with Banquet and Culinary teams to ensure seamless event execution

Account Management & Business Development

  • Respond to RFPs within defined timelines using customized and competitive proposals
  • Maintain accurate account records, contracts, proposals, and CRM documentation
  • Collaborate with leadership on account planning and quarterly business reviews
  • Attend trade shows, networking functions, and industry events
  • Participate in sales meetings, pre-convention meetings, and training sessions
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Required
  • 3-5 years of hotel sales experience with focus on group catering and/or room sales
  • Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience with hotel sales systems including PEP and Salesforce
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong proposal writing and contract negotiation abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and events simultaneously
  • Professional presentation and customer service skills
Preferred 
  • Experience with Delphi Hotel Sales system
  • Experience within branded hotel environments
  • Knowledge of local and regional meetings and events markets
Work Environment:This role operates in a professional hotel and office environment with frequent interaction with clients, guests, vendors, and hotel leadership. Schedule may include evenings and weekends based on events and business needs.
Physical Demands:This role requires extended periods of sitting, standing, presenting, and walking the property during site tours and events. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds may be required.

Classification: Exempt
Salary Range:  $70,000 - $75,000 based on experience 
Travel:
Local travel for outside sales calls, client entertainment, and industry events may be required.
