Position Overview
The State of Ohio Department of Public Safety is seeking an experienced .NET Developer to work with IT supervisors, project managers, and developers in an Agile development environment. The consultant will support the complete application lifecycle, including requirements gathering, application design, development, testing, deployment, and technical support.
The role will involve developing new applications and modernizing legacy applications using C#, ASP.NET Core MVC, Web API, Windows Forms, SQL Server, Entity Framework, and N-tier architecture. Applications must comply with ODPS coding standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Gather and analyze system/user requirements. 
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support applications. 
  • Develop and rewrite legacy applications using .NET technologies. 
  • Develop applications using C#, ASP.NET Core MVC, Web API, Windows Forms, and SQL Server. 
  • Implement N-tier architecture. 
  • Design and develop database objects, tables, views, stored procedures, and functions. 
  • Perform SQL query optimization and database development. 
  • Develop and secure WCF/SOA applications. 
  • Develop reports using SSRS and SSIS and integrate them with MVC applications. 
  • Work with TFS/Azure DevOps, Git, Boards, and CI/CD pipelines. 
  • Participate in Agile development and testing activities. 
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to technical staff. 
  • Collaborate with project managers, developers, business teams, and supporting resources. 
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting. 
  • Manage priorities, deadlines, and assigned technical resources.

  • 10+ years .NET web development experience, including 4+ years ASP.NET Core MVC. 
  • 10+ years ASP.NET development using C#.

  • 10+ years TFS experience involving code repository, promotion, and recovery strategies. 
  • 10+ years Entity Framework (EF 4.0 or later). 
  • 10+ years .NET Framework 4.0+ web application development. 
  • 10+ years SOA/WCF, including developing and securing WCF. 
  • 10+ years N-tier architecture development and deployment. 
  • 5+ years Agile development using TFS/DevOps.
