  • Monitor freezer and cooler temperatures daily to confirm readings remain within SOP guidelines and document any deviations as required.
  • Clean and organize the department each day to support a clean, safe work environment and to promote a smooth flow of daily operations.
  • Maintain and promote safety at all times by conducting all operations in a safe and environmentally compliant manner.
  • Stock supplies and materials daily and assist with inventory activities to ensure an adequate quantity of materials is available to perform tasks appropriately.
  • Accurately document and record sample information, tracking data, and any other required records in a timely and organized manner.

Essential Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with internal teams and accurately document information.
  • High level of attention to detail to verify Chain of Custody forms, match samples to quotes, and maintain precise sample tracking.
  • Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve discrepancies in documentation or sample information.
  • Basic ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory and testing procedures to support proper handling, routing, and disposal of samples.

  • Approximately 2–4 years of experience in sample control, laboratory operations, or a closely related lab environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in laboratory science or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience working with DOT regulations related to the receipt, shipment, and forwarding of laboratory samples.
  • Familiarity with EPA requirements for sample collection kits and related documentation.
