Job description

Memco Spring is currently looking Door & Hardware Installers. They would be responsible for installing commercial door hardware, fabricated components, fixtures, and related systems at customer and construction sites. This position performs detailed installation work and final quality assurance/quality control inspections to help ensure projects are completed accurately, safely, and according to company and customer expectations.

As one of the final team members involved before project completion, the Door & Hardware Installer plays an important role in delivering a high-quality finished product. The ideal candidate is skilled, dependable, mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and committed to safe, precise workmanship.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install door hardware, fabricated components, fixtures, and related products at customer locations and active construction sites.
  • Install, adjust, align, test, and repair door hardware and related systems as needed.
  • Review and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, work orders, project specifications, and installation instructions.
  • Perform final quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) inspections to verify the accuracy, functionality, appearance, and completeness of installations before project turnover.
  • Identify installation issues, material concerns, field conflicts, or product deficiencies and communicate them promptly to the appropriate supervisor or project team.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve installation-related issues while maintaining project schedules and quality standards.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company standards, project specifications, job-site requirements, and applicable building and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with project managers, shop personnel, field teams, contractors, and other trades to support successful project completion.
  • Accurately document completed work, materials used, field modifications, punch-list items, and installation concerns as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in shop, warehouse, field, and customer-site environments.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, fabrication equipment, vehicles, and other equipment required to perform assigned work.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, organizing, transporting, and securing materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, personal protective equipment requirements, and job-site rules.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in construction, door and hardware installation, metalworking, fabrication, or a related skilled trade.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, project specifications, measurements, and technical documents.
  • Proficiency using common hand tools, power tools, measuring tools, and installation equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting ability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Dependable, punctual, organized, and able to meet project deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn new systems, tools, products, and installation methods.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Welding certifications or specialized fabrication training.
  • Experience installing commercial door hardware, hollow metal frames, storefront systems, or architectural hardware.
  • Experience working with steel, aluminum, glass, or architectural metal systems.
  • Previous field installation, construction, manufacturing, or fabrication experience.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and job-site environments.
  • Ability to safely operate required tools, equipment, and company vehicles.
  • Ability to work at varying heights, including on ladders, lifts, or scaffolding, when required by the job.
