Job description

The Philanthropy Officer for Donor Relations is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive donor acknowledgment, recognition, stewardship, and engagement strategies to enhance donor relationships and retention. This role ensures that donors experience meaningful connections to the hospital's mission through personalized impact reporting, engagement initiatives, and thoughtfully planned, high-quality events. This position plays a key role in coordinating and executing signature fundraising, stewardship, and donor engagement events while collaborating with the philanthropy team to strengthen donor relationships at all levels.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in philanthropy, nonprofit management, communications, event planning, or a related field. Significant job-related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Master's degree or CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) certification preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in donor relations, stewardship, event planning, or fundraising.
  • Experience in healthcare philanthropy or hospital fundraising preferred.

Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Relationship Management - Ability to create personalized donor experiences.
  • Event Planning & Execution - Expertise in planning, coordinating, and executing high-quality donor, fundraising, and stewardship events.
  • Storytelling & Impact Reporting - Ability to communicate donor impact effectively.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork - Works cross-functionally with fundraising, marketing, and hospital leadership.
  • Data-Driven Approach - Uses donor analytics to enhance engagement and retention strategies.
  • Donor Acknowledgment & Recognition - Oversees a comprehensive donor acknowledgment program, ensuring timely and personalized recognition of contributions.
  • Impact Reporting & Stewardship Communications - Develop and implement donor impact reports, newsletters, and personalized updates to demonstrate philanthropic impact.
  • Donor Engagement & Relationship Building - Partner with the philanthropy team to develop strategic engagement plans for major donors, planned giving donors, and corporate partners through ongoing stewardship and engagement opportunities.
  • Special Events Planning & Execution - Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of donor cultivation, stewardship, and recognition events, including signature fundraising events, donor appreciation receptions, VIP hospital tours, Board and leadership giving events, annual giving society gatherings, and other philanthropic engagement activities.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration & Data Management - Work closely with the operations team to ensure accurate donor data tracking, event coordination support, and reporting.

  • Must be available to work weekend/evening events as needed

Compensation:
  • Salaried/Exempt Position
  • Range: $63,419 - $101,000
  • Compensation is based on years of relevant experience
