Proesis Biologics is a contemporary and forward-thinking human source plasma collection platform dedicated to improving the plasma donation journey for all stakeholders. We partner with communities and donors to supply the industry with the high-quality plasma necessary for treating people with rare and chronic conditions worldwide.

Our Proesis Bio Raleigh team is searching for a kind, compassionate, and enthusiastic Medical Specialist to join our team. This candidate must have a valid EMT-A/B or Paramedic certification. The Medical Specialist will screen first time donors to determine their eligibility to donate. They will also work alongside our Donor Advocates to report any adverse events that may occur during the donation process. This position reports directly to the center management and will work alongside other Medical Specialists and donor center staff to provide an elevated and compliant plasma collection process. This position is full-time, offering 8-hour daily shifts within our center. Over time, it is our goal at Proesis to help you grow your career as we grow as a company.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Determine donor suitability in accordance with all applicable regulatory agencies and Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform physical examinations for donors and review accumulated data in a timely manner to confirm established donor suitability.
  • Lead, document, and follow-up on Donor Adverse Events (DAEs).
  • Provide appropriate and confidential counseling, as necessary.
  • Consult with Center Medical Director on all abnormal test results and all medical events.
  • Monitor donors for adverse donation reactions.
  • Determine the need and call for emergency medical assistance when necessary.
  • Always maintain exceptional customer service.

Qualifications and Education:

  • Applicants must hold a current and valid EMT-A/B or Paramedic license.
  • Must possess an active CPR/BLS certification.
  • One (1) or more years’ experience desired (recent grads are encouraged to apply).
  • Excellent donor interfacing skills.
  • Manage emergency situations in accordance with standard medical care practices.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate computer software and Microsoft Office.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit or stand for up three (3) hours at a time.
  • Ability to tug, lift, and pull up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Be able to bend, stoop or kneel.
  • Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens.
  • Specific vision and hearing abilities are required to be successful within the role
