Job Title: Data and Analytics Manager
Location: Hybrid Virginia with Remote Option
Reports to: Chief Technology Officer
Salary Range: $98,200-$158,250

Position Overview

The Head of Data Platforms is responsible for leading the strategy, development, and ongoing enhancement of the organization’s enterprise data platform, business intelligence capabilities, and data enablement functions. This role serves as a strategic leader across business and technology teams, ensuring that data architecture, governance, reporting, and analytics capabilities align with organizational priorities and support informed decision-making.

The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in enterprise data platforms, modern data architecture, and business intelligence delivery, along with strong leadership skills and the ability to drive adoption of self-service analytics and data literacy across the organization. This role will work closely with executive leadership, business stakeholders, and technical teams to build scalable, secure, and business-ready data capabilities.

Data and Analytics Manager - Responsibilities

Define and execute data platform and BI strategy (Fabric, unified data platform, self-service)

Own data architecture including ingestion, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data modeling

Establish data governance, quality, lineage, and controls

Oversee BI delivery model including backlog and release governance

Lead Data Citizen Program and enterprise data literacy initiatives

Drive self-service analytics adoption and track usage metrics

Develop training programs and materials for business users

Promote adoption of dashboards and reports across business units

Partner with business leadership to align data strategy to outcomes

Partners with IT Infrastructure to align database performance and operational controls with data platform needs.

Lead onshore and offshore resources and vendors

Data and Analytics Manager - Requirements

Relevant education in information systems, computer science, data analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

10+ years of progressive experience in data platforms, business intelligence, or enterprise data management

5+ years of leadership experience building and managing high-performing technical teams

Deep expertise in modern data architecture, ETL/ELT pipelines, data modeling, governance, and analytics platforms

Experience with Microsoft data ecosystem tools such as Fabric, Power BI, Azure data services, and self-service reporting environments

Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, metadata, lineage, security, and control frameworks

Proven ability to partner with business leaders to translate strategy into scalable data solutions and measurable outcomes

Excellent communication, change management, and stakeholder engagement skills

Experience leading vendor, consultant, and offshore delivery models

Insurance industry experience, especially in enterprise reporting, operational data, or regulatory data environments

Advanced degree in information systems, computer science, data analytics, or equivalent experience.

We work in a hybrid environment, with flexibility for both in-office and remote work arrangements based on business needs and role expectations. A fully remote work plan may be considered under certain circumstances.
