Job description

Our Thrift Store has a wide range of items that have been donated by people in our community. We are continually accepting donations and have great deals on items in our shop. Along with great prices, all dollars raised at our Thrift Store go right back into our Emergency Shelter programs and services. Apply now to make a difference in your community!

The part-time Thrift Store Associate is expected to receive donations, process and display merchandise, operate a cash register, and complete sales transactions. Associates will also assist with providing quality customer service as part of the Thrift Store Operations and support picking up donations from area businesses and homes.

About the role:

  • Cross train and work in all areas of store as needed
  • Accept and evaluate donations
  • Maintain donation area cleanliness during store's business hours
  • Ensure quality of inventory by adhering to merchandise standards when accepting donations
  • Clean, price and display merchandise
  • Arrange and display merchandise throughout the store as assigned
  • Operate cash register, assist with sales transactions and with the reconciliation of daily cash receipts
  • Answer phone lines and provide customer service
  • Assist customers on the sales floor and suggest sales when appropriate
  • Build positive donor relations by providing information regarding use of donations
  • Actively support a team environment among store associates
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and other trainings
  • Interact appropriately and courteously with donors while on their property
  • Ensure a safe work environment by keeping aisles and other areas clear of debris
  • Load and unload donations from truck

Experience: Previous experience in a retail environment is preferred, but not required.
