Job description

At Dollywood Parks & Resorts, we create memories worth repeating! We are seeking a Host Transit Driver who will embody the heart and soul of our mission of creating memories worth repeating while bringing families closer together while caring deeply about our brand.
We want to work alongside someone who acts as an extension of our mission, values, and culture. The ideal Host Transit Driver will be equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator.
The Host Transit Driver is responsible for all aspects of the host shuttle operation, to include safety, friendliness, cleanliness and line speed within assigned areas.
Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable.
Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Greets guests and initiate friendly interaction. Provide guest excellence, which exceeds expectations, answers questions, and provides park information
  • Effectively uses empowerment to ensure Dollywood's 100% Satisfaction Guarantee policy is implemented
  • Effectively performs in the role of Host Transit Driver to include (but not limited to):
    • Transports Hosts via Shuttle/Van conveyances in a safe and efficient manner
    • Visually observes surroundings and other conveyances for potential safety hazards
    • Visually observes Host actions during operation to prevent safety hazards
    • Cleans and organizes conveyance daily to present professional appearance
    • Communicates calmly, clearly, and positively with Hosts aboard the conveyance
    • Communicates safety rules and scripted festival/general park information in a manner consistent with the values and mission of The Dollywood Company
    • Maintains a sense of urgency to reduce Host wait times
  • Completes daily written reports and turn in any necessary paperwork to Transit PIC
  • Operates vehicles/work each position in all weather conditions
  • Maintains a sense of urgency toward area of operation to reduce Guest wait time
  • Uses time productively to include sweeping, clearing cobwebs, straightening cones, and other similar items
  • Assists with other areas in parking as needed/requested by Management
  • Wears and maintains a themed costume issued by Dollywood
  • Performs special projects as directed by Management
  • Attends all required Training Classes and Meetings
  • Complies with safety and security directives, policies and procedures to ensure Hosts/Guests safety at all times
  • Reacts calmly and quickly in stressful/emergency situations. Physically assist Guests throughout the area as required
  • Visually observes guest actions during operation to prevent safety hazards
  • Initiates friendly interaction with guests
  • Works varying hours and at different areas when needed
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times
  • Follows all safety standards to include reporting any violation of standards

Management reserves the right to change and/or add to these duties at any time
Education and Experience Required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to safely operate company vehicles according to company policy. Must have valid driver's license, proof of auto liability insurance and acceptable motor vehicle driving record
  • May be required to provide a copy of personal driving record from home state
  • Must have less than three (3) traffic violations on record in the last three (3) years
  • Must not have a DUI conviction in the past 15 years on record
  • Applicants for positions that involve driving Guests or Hosts must pass a post-offer physical that complies with DOT requirements
  • Offers of employment are contingent upon satisfactory completion of background screening which includes criminal history and motor vehicle record check

Physical Requirements | Environmental Conditions
  • Lifting and Carrying: Position may require occasional to frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs utilizing company's safety guidelines for safe lifting
  • Mobility: Position may require intermittent to prolonged sitting, standing and/or walking for duration of shift, up to 13 hours
  • Repetitive Movements: This position may require performing repetitive movements and tasks throughout the shift, including repeated use of hands, arms or other body parts as part of typical job functions
  • Environmental Conditions: This position requires the ability to perform work tasks in varying weather conditions to include extreme cold and heat
  • Cognitive and Sensory Requirements: This position requires strong cognitive skills, including the ability to think critically, solve problems, process and retain information, have attention to detail and communicate effectively using approved communication methods
