Job description

Dollar Bank is hiring for a loan assistant in our Corporate Banking department. The incumbent be responsible for performing various administrative duties to provide consistent, high-quality service to corporate business customers in a personalized, professional, and timely manner. This role will also contribute to department goals and objectives by assisting officers in managing customer relationships. Successful candidates in this role typically possess good organizational and communication skills, and good time management. Candidate will have the ability to work a hybrid schedule after completing successful training.
Qualifications:
* High School Diploma/GED required. College degree preferred.
* Two (2) years of banking or administrative experience required.
* Must have good organizational/priority setting skills; ability to switch tasks efficiently.
* Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Must have a capacity to learn Dollar Bank's commercial loan system, products, services, policies, and procedures.
* Ability to apply job knowledge and good judgment to problem solving/decision making situations.
* Proofreading skills and attention to detail required.
* Working knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Principal Activities and Duties:
* Assist loan officers in the preparation of loan extensions by ordering appraisals, credit, property, flood, secured transaction and subsistence reports/certificates, verify deposit and loan account balances and other due diligence information.
* Assemble loan documents for closing and follow up on requested/required information post-closing (e.g. mortgage recording, UCC recording, etc.).
* Prepare commercial loan system input worksheets to onboard new loans consistent with the credit approval and loan documents.
* Ensure that all fees and closing costs (e.g. legal, appraisal, recording, etc.) have been invoiced to the client post-closing and that payment has been received.
* Create and maintain electronic credit files.
* Coordinate communication and interaction with other areas of the bank including Credit, Underwriting, Treasury Management, Private Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Business Banking and Wire Transfer among others to respond to client inquiries and requests.
* Perform servicing and maintenance of accounts/relationships including processing loan advances, payments, modifications, billing inquiries and periodically viewing departmental facsimile/email.
* Review daily overdraft report and communicate directly with clients and loan officers to resolve/decision.
* Assist loan officers with collection of past due accounts including direct contact/communication with clients and/or agent banks.
* Assist loan officers in communications, both internally and externally, as needed.
* Sort and distribute incoming mail.
* All employees have the responsibility and the accountability to serve as risk managers for their businesses by understanding, reporting, responding to, managing, and monitoring the risk they encounter daily as required by Dollar Bank's risk management program. Compliance with regulatory laws and company procedures is a required component of all position descriptions.
* Perform other duties as necessary.
